Shortening racket buttcaps for all rackets and handle shapes
Shortening Buttcaps — All Rackets and Handle Shapes
Shortens the racket by 5 mm: the racket's hairpin sits 5 mm lower inside the buttcap than a standard cap. Same five shape options (B1–B5) as our standard buttcaps — shortening and shape are independent variables.
What 5 mm of shortening changes
Swingweight drops approximately 8–10 SW points — more maneuverable, more compact feel through the ball. The shift in balance point can improve control on contact, provided grip weight placement is adjusted to compensate.
B1 — Extended Lever
Positions the hand lower on the handle for a longer lever. Increases swingweight for more power and spin potential. Suited to topspin-heavy baseline players generating high racket-head speed.
B2 — Classic Box Profile
Traditional boxy profile, Pro Staff-style. Structured, firm connection to the handle. Suited to precision players who prefer fixed hand placement.
B3 — Smooth Oval Transition
Oval end profile instead of rectangular. Built for players who change grips often. Suited to all-court play.
B4 — High-Profile Seamless Transition
Comparable to Babolat's stock buttcaps — a locked-in grip for powerful baseline strokes and fast swings.
B5 — Head-Style Feel
Comparable to Head's factory buttcaps. Structured with a slight flare. Suited to Head users who want wrist support without sacrificing maneuverability.
Compatible with all racket models and handle shapes.
